PRC Announces Target Date for Release of March 2026 Physician Licensure Exam Results

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has formally set April 8, 2026 as the projected date for the release of the March 2026 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) results, in accordance with PRC Resolution No. 2113, series of 2025. The announcement covers the official list of successful examinees who passed the national physician board examination administered earlier in March.

Despite the projected release schedule, the PRC emphasized that the actual release date of the Physician Board Examination results may still change, as it remains subject to procedural and administrative conditions. The results could be made public earlier or later than the announced date, depending on the completion of result tabulation, validation, and approval processes.

Historical data shows that result release timelines may vary. In the case of the October 2025 Physician Licensure Examination, the PRC released the official results four working days after the final examination date, demonstrating that outcomes can be posted ahead of previously estimated timelines. In light of this, examinees and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to remain vigilant for updates.

The PRC further advised examinees to regularly monitor official announcement platforms, including PRC portals and verified social media accounts, to ensure access to the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the release of examination results. Interested parties are also encouraged to bookmark official result pages to avoid misinformation and delays.

Registration Process for Newly Licensed Physicians

Following the release of results, successful examinees will be required to complete their professional registration to formally acquire their status as licensed physicians. The PRC noted that the schedule for online booking of registration appointments for the issuance of the Professional Identification (ID) Card and Certificate of Registration will be announced at a later date, as registration dates remain to be determined (TBA).

The Commission reiterated that all registration appointments must be secured online through the PRC’s official appointment system, which can be accessed via https://online.prc.gov.ph/. Examinees are expected to complete the online process and prepare all required documents ahead of their scheduled appearance.

To ensure a smooth registration process, newly licensed physicians must present the following documents:

  • Notice of Admission (NOA), to be used strictly for identity verification
  • A fully accomplished Oath Form (Panunumpa ng Propesyonal)
  • Two passport-sized identification photographs, taken against a white background and bearing a complete name tag
  • Two sets of documentary stamps
  • One short brown envelope

In addition, the PRC underscored that personal appearance is mandatory during the registration process. All successful examinees must sign the Roster of Registered Professionals, a legal requirement that formally records their entry into the professional registry maintained by the Commission.

The completion of registration marks the final step before newly licensed physicians can officially practice their profession and use the professional title conferred upon them by law.

PRC Outlines Procedures for Rating Verification and Oath-Taking of New Physicians

Following the official release of results for the Physician Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has reminded successful examinees of the standard procedures for verifying board examination ratings and completing the mandatory oath-taking requirements, both of which are essential steps toward full professional registration.

A few days after the publication of the official list of passers, individual ratings and examination outcomes will be made available for online verification. The PRC emphasized that this process allows candidates to confirm their board examination performance through the Commission’s official digital platforms.

Successful examinees may access the PRC Verification Page through the official PRC website to review their examination status and passing details. To successfully retrieve their results, candidates are required to provide specific personal and examination-related information. These include the name of the examination, date of examination, application number, first and last names, and date of birth. The PRC stressed that accurate input of these details is necessary to ensure proper verification.

The online verification system serves as an additional layer of transparency and accessibility, enabling passers to securely confirm their licensure status without the need for in-person visits during the initial stage.

Oath-Taking Guidelines for Physician Board Passers

In preparation for professional induction, the PRC also issued comprehensive reminders regarding the oath-taking process, which officially authorizes successful examinees to practice their profession. Passers who wish to participate in the face-to-face mass oath-taking ceremony are required to register their attendance no later than 12:00 noon on the day immediately preceding the scheduled oath-taking date.

Registration for oath-taking must be completed through the PRC online appointment system accessible at http://online.prc.gov.ph, where interested examinees may confirm their participation.

For those who are unable to attend the on-site mass oath-taking ceremony, the PRC has provided alternative options. Passers may either take part in the virtual oath-taking or formally request a special oath-taking ceremony. Once participation is confirmed, the corresponding schedules will be officially announced and posted on the PRC website.

Applicants opting for virtual induction must secure an online appointment through the same PRC portal and ensure that the “e-OATH” option is selected as the transaction type. The PRC clarified that online registration for virtual oath-taking will close five calendar days before the scheduled virtual ceremony, and no late registrations will be accommodated.

Additionally, all inductees—whether attending physical or virtual ceremonies—are required to download and print the “Oath of Professional” form, which is available on the official PRC website under the PRC Online Services section. This document must be accomplished and presented as part of the oath-taking process.

Final Step: Initial Registration

After the completion of the oath-taking ceremony, newly inducted physicians must proceed with Initial Registration, which formally completes their transition into licensed professionals. This step also requires securing an online appointment through the PRC’s official website.

The PRC reiterated that oath-taking and registration are mandatory procedures and must be completed in the prescribed order to ensure the lawful issuance of professional credentials.

As new physicians prepare to enter the medical profession, the Commission continues to encourage passers to closely follow official announcements and strictly adhere to the outlined guidelines to avoid delays in their professional registration.

Over time, the results of previous examinations have offered valuable insight into passing trends, top-performing individuals, and medical schools that demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

A review of the most recent PLE held in October 2025 shows a strong overall performance among examinees. Out of 5,900 aspiring physicians, a total of 4,570 individuals successfully passed, resulting in a 77.46 percent passing rate. Leading the roster of topnotchers was Kharam Baricaua Molbog of the University of Santo Tomas, who secured the top rank with an impressive 91.17 percent rating. Closely following in second place was Eris Orlan Sto. Dominog Muñoz from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, who earned a 90.67 percent score.

Institutional performance during the same examination cycle also reflected notable achievements. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila emerged as one of the strongest performers, recording a 99.05 percent passing rate, while the Cebu Institute of Medicine posted a perfect 100 percent passing rate, underscoring its consistent track record in medical education excellence.

Earlier, during the March–April 2025 Physician Licensure Examination, the PRC reported a lower overall passing percentage. On the institutional level, the University of the Philippines–Manila stood out as the top-performing school, posting an impressive 96.97 percent passing rate.

Taken together, these historical results reflect shifting performance levels across different examination periods while highlighting individuals and institutions that consistently excel in medical education. As new batches of examinees prepare for upcoming licensure results, previous examination outcomes continue to serve as benchmarks of academic rigor and professional readiness in the country’s medical community.
