Beverly Hills, CA — American pop superstar Rihanna was at home Sunday when her Los Angeles mansion was struck by gunfire, authorities confirmed. At least one of the rounds fired penetrated a wall of the colonial-style residence she shares with rapper A$AP Rocky and their three young children.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty, a singer, entrepreneur, and actress from Barbados, is a major cultural icon celebrated for her versatile career, bold artistic transformations, and distinctive sense of style.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to reports of the shooting at 1:21 p.m. in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood. A 30-year-old female suspect was quickly detained following the incident.
Police said the suspect fired approximately 10 rounds from a vehicle across the street from the property’s gate. The vehicle—a white Tesla—then fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive. Officers, assisted by a helicopter, tracked the car to a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where the suspect was arrested roughly 30 minutes after the 911 call.
“When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings,” LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias said. Bullet holes were found in the mansion’s gate and in an RV parked on the property.
The pop star was reportedly unharmed, and no injuries were reported among her family. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are parents to sons RZA (born May 2022), Riot (born August 2023), and daughter Rocki (born late 2025). It was not immediately clear whether anyone else was at home during the shooting.
Details from police radio indicated the suspect had braided hair and was wearing a cream-colored blouse. The vehicle was described as dirty along the bottom.
This incident follows a prior security scare in 2018, when a man broke into Rihanna’s Hollywood Hills home and remained inside for roughly 12 hours. The intruder, Eduardo Leon, later pleaded no contest to stalking charges.
Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind Sunday’s shooting, emphasizing that the rapid police response likely prevented potential harm to the singer and her family.
